MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA
SEPTEMBER 2016 - PRESENT
I develop software on both the Local Search & Maps teams, building out feature pipelines end-to-end. Currently, I'm working on extending Posts, a product that supports local businesses in publishing their updates, events & offers to Search, from search to desktop maps.
I love this product, not only because I'm biased, but also because it helps small businesses that don't necessarily have the advertising budget of large corporations connect with their customers & grow.
Women of Silicon Valley
SILICON VALLEY, CA
JANUARY 2015 - PRESENT
Women of Silicon Valley is an intersectional feminist photo & interview series modeled after “Humans of New York” that celebrates outstanding womxn & genderqueer folks in tech, especially those of color. I integrated WoSV into Google’s 20% Diversity program, in which members may dedicate up to 20% of their paid time on D&I* initiatives. So, when I'm not engineering, I'm managing a team of eight wonderful women who've volunteered their diverse skillsets to WoSV.
I started Women of Silicon Valley when I was a Computer Science student at Stanford, after I'd been sexually harassed at a tech company, to celebrate the women who kept me afloat. Since its humble beginnings, we've interviewed over 100 women & genderqueer folks, garnered 70K+ followers across 4 social media platforms & received public acclaim from Melinda Gates, Chelsea Clinton & publications including CNN, BBC & Italy's national paper Corriere della Sera.
